Differences between Counselling and Psychotherapy
It can be hard to decide whether you need Counselling or Psychotherapy and even knowing the difference between the two can at times be confusing. Counselling is more short-term support focusing on present issues in your life. Psychotherapy is longer term therapy looking at recurring patterns and issues from the past and how they can impact our present experience.
Paula works with clients on an individual basis and will discuss clients’ needs at the beginning of therapy to determine the route of therapy and support that is required.
Counselling can help support us through this time in our lives. Perhaps you are experiencing general underlying feelings of anxiety and low mood but don’t know why or how you came to be feeling like this. Maybe you want to learn more about yourself and develop your Self awareness.
