Having never done therapy before, it took a crisis to lead me to Paula. Many people use this phrase but Paula, a complete stranger at the time, was there for me from the moment I contacted her and literally saved my life.
Paula gave me the space, the building blocks and boundaries to find myself again, my own strength again and save and rebuild mine and my child's life during and after intimate relationship abuse.
While Paula was all the things you'd hope for when reaching out for any help let alone therapy- empathetic, kind, a good listener.. my rock to cling to while I was drowning, she also helped me build my own life raft, find and repair the muscles I needed, for myself, to not only swim back to shore but be able to stay strong, balanced and safe again no matter what was thrown at me. My time with Paula changed my life, our lives and what I learnt, what she taught me, helped me learn for myself, will be with me forever more and still impacts our lives every day. There are no words really to express what Paula, her skill and just her, did other than to say, genuinely, she is, on so many levels, a life saver.
